Wednesday Journal's Design an Ad Contest

4th and 5th grade students have the opportunity to participate and design an ad for a local business. Mrs. Tague will introduce the contest to students in art and hand out the contest forms with business names and details.


Art that makes you say WOW!

W.O.W. stands for Wonderful, Original, Works of art

Students in grades 2-5 work on coming up with their own original idea for a work of art. We talk about how artists make art that is important to them and about things that interest them. Students take their time and put a lot of effort into these projects, some work for several weeks. When they are finished, they write an artist statement to help describe and explain their artwork.
